Best known for nostalgic, eccentric sayings adorning their knitwear items, Wildfox Couture designs clothes that are both fun and fashionable. Bright hearts, sparkly stars and sayings like “I need a taxi” are among the most commonly found embellishments in the line’s generous collection, and these unique designs have earned the brand a mighty band of loyal followers.
Childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon established the Los Angeles brand in 2007, with the help of musician and current Wildfox President and CEO, Jimmy Sommers. Faulstich and Gordon are the creative force behind the highly-wearable brand, striving to combine style and quality with unique designs that appeal to women and girls from all walks of life.
The co-designers work closely together out of their Silverlake-area design studio, where they continue to nurture the growing Wildfox brand to fully encompass the heart of the label: clothes based on peace, love and having fun.
From the cropped sweatshirts to the oversized tanks, most of the pieces you’ll find in the Wildfox Couture collection are a blast to wear, and just edgy enough to make a lasting impression. Says Gordon: “…clothes can define what a person thinks of you and that is really important. I like giving girls confidence by wearing a conversation-starting T-shirt.”
Though the brand is currently distributed internationally in over 30 countries, at the core Wildfox Couture is unmistakably born and bred in Los Angeles. The super soft fabrics and eccentric designs practically beg to be worn out for a day spent shopping, brunching, and enjoying the absolute best of what L.A. has to offer.
